Repair When It Makes Sense. Replace When It Doesn't.
Not every damaged slab needs to be torn out. Cracks, surface wear, minor settlement, and spalling from road salt can often be fixed for a fraction of replacement cost. But repairs have limits — and the most expensive option is paying for repairs on a slab that needed replacement all along.

Crack Repair
Hairline and settling cracks are normal concrete behavior in our climate. Left alone, water gets in, freezes, and widens them every winter. We clean out the cracks and seal and fill them with materials rated for outdoor freeze-thaw exposure — stopping water intrusion and stabilizing the slab. Crack repair is maintenance, not magic: it addresses the crack, not the reason it formed. If the cause is ongoing settlement or a failed base, we'll say so.
Slab Leveling
Sunken sections — a settled driveway corner, a patio edge that's dropped, a walkway panel sitting low — can often be lifted back to grade by injecting material beneath the slab. When the slab itself is sound and only the base underneath has settled, leveling restores a level surface without tear-out, at a fraction of replacement cost. It won't fix a slab that's cracked apart or heaved by frost; it's the right tool for settlement, not for structural failure.
Concrete Resurfacing
Worn, stained, or mildly spalled surfaces can be resurfaced with a bonded overlay that gives the slab a fresh, clean top layer. Resurfacing is a cosmetic and protective fix — it works when the underlying slab is structurally sound. If the slab is moving, heaving, or breaking apart underneath, an overlay just hides the problem temporarily. We'll tell you which situation you're in before quoting anything.
Spall and Salt-Damage Repair
Road salt and de-icers chew at concrete surfaces over time, especially older slabs poured before air-entrained mixes were standard. We repair spalled areas, and where the damage is early, we recommend sealing to slow further deterioration. Going forward, using sand for traction instead of heavy salt applications is gentler on any concrete surface.
When Replacement Is the Honest Answer
Repair has limits, and we'd rather tell you than take your money twice:
- Severe heaving. Freeze-thaw has pushed large sections up unevenly — the base has failed, and leveling won't hold.
- Widespread structural cracking. A slab broken into shifting pieces isn't a patching candidate.
- Failed base across the whole area. When the problem is underneath everything, surface fixes just delay the inevitable.
- Drainage that can't be corrected around the slab. Replacement is the chance to rebuild grade and drainage correctly from scratch.
